With the launch of window 8 operating system, most new laptops now use this operating system, for some users, the interface is superb but you need some tips to understand how the system work so you can enjoy it.
One of the fundamental of using an operating system is being able to access the following areas; control panel, desktop, program installed on the system, my computer, downloads, my document and finally customization of the system. In this tutorial, I would be explaining some of this few tips to you that would enable you to easily use your operating system without problems or thinking of switching to a lower version.

1 Accessing Start Menu/ Programs Files on Window 8 Operating System
Your window 8 start menu is not like your regular start menu as seen in lower versions, this time; the start menu is a splash screen with list of all the programs installed and which store your program installed on your system. The start menu is shown to you when you launch the operating system or logon, from this start menu, you can start adding your favourite app (Software Programs). Below is a screenshot of the start menu:


How to Access the Start Menu Once on Desktop Screen
To do that, take your mouse to the extreme left bottom, a box with a label “start” would display and you click that to access the start menu again.

2 How to Access File Explorer/ Control Panel Shortcut
One tip that would come in handy when using window 8 operating system is accessing file explorer and control panel, with file explorer, you can easily access the system hard drives and partition and with control panel, you can restore and uninstall programs including system utilities.
To access this section, take your mouse to the extreme left bottom of the screen and instead of clicking the start box, right click on it and it would display a list with which you can easily navigate to file explorer or control panel.

3 How to Access All application on your system and pin them to Start Page
Another important tip is accessing all apps on your system and making them to show up on the start page which you can easily access when you intend to use it. To do that, once you are on the start page, right click on an empty space, once that is done, you would see all app at the bottom, click on the all apps to full list of all programs running on your system. 


From the list of the programs displayed, you can start adding programs to start page list by right clicking of the desired program icon and clicking pin to start list. To pin a program to taskbar, you do same step but click pin to taskbar.
